Career in Environmental Science

Environmental science is emerging as one of the most sought after careers. Ten years ago, this was not the case. But things have undergone substantial change with environmental issues taking center-stage globally and people world over are becoming more and more aware about the significance of clean environment. Therefore, the principal challenge is conservation of biological diversity and the sustainable use of biological resources, as well as to support the Convention on Biological Diversity to the Earth habitable.
Nature of Work:
Environmental scientists can work in four general fields:
· Environmental Protection, which targets air, water and land quality and often has a human and environmental health and safety perspective,
· Conservation and Protection of Natural Resources, which deals both with park, fisheries and wildlife management and the operation of resource based industries such as mining, forestry and agriculture,
· Environmental Education and Communications, which occurs both in the public and private sectors.
